David Boardman

David Boardman (BSJ79) joined The Seattle Times in 1983, beginning a long career with the state of Washington’s largest newspaper. As an editor for The Seattle Times, Boardman has overseen four Pulitzer Prize wins for the paper. In 2010, The Seattle Times staff was honored with a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting, in honor of their coverage of the shooting of four police officers and subsequent manhunt.

In July of 2013, after 30 years with The Seattle Times, Boardman was announced as the new dean of Temple University’s School of Media and Communication. He has also served as the chairman of Poynter’s National Advisory Board and president of the American Society of News Editors.
