Michael F. Toner

Michael F. Toner (MSJ67) graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication one year before graduating from Medill’s graduate program, in 1967. In 1993, Toner as awarded the Pulitzer Prize for explanatory journalism, for a 20-part series he wrote for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The series, “When Bugs Fight Back,” examined the effectiveness of pesticides and antibiotics.
