Richard C. Christian Award

This award is dedicated to the late Dick Christian, one of the founders of Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations and communications company. His service to Medill began in the early 1980s, when he served as associate dean. Christian was pivotal in leading Medill's transition from awarding master of science degrees in advertising to master's degrees in Integrated Marketing Communications. He retired in 1999 and died in 2009. Christian cared deeply about students and their education. Hence, this award recognizes the student or students who each year make notable contributions to advancing the learning experience for themselves and their peers.

Recipients of the Richard C. Christian Award are selected by the IMC faculty and honored at the graduation convocation.
