The Medill Medal for Courage in Journalism
Given to the individual or team of journalists, working for a U.S.-based media outlet, who best displayed moral, ethical or physical courage in the pursuit of a story or series of stories.
The Ida B. Wells Award
Medill is home to the award bearing Wells’ name, which honors media executives whose actions demonstrate a commitment to a diverse newsroom or coverage of minorities in American journalism.
John Bartlow Martin Award (on Hiatus)
This competition honors the best public interest magazine journalism of the year. Awarded for work produced in the previous year.
