**For all newly admitted Medill graduate students**
Once you've made the decision to enroll in Medill's graduate program, here are the formal steps to take to finalize your enrollment:
• Submit a non-refundable $500 tuition deposit to the Office of Graduate Admissions with the blue Deposit Remittance Form that was included with your acceptance packet, by the date noted in your admission letter. This date is when your deposit should be in our office -- it is not a "postmark" date. This deposit holds your seat in the class, and will be applied towards your tuition once you enroll. Checks should be made out to Northwestern University. If you have lost or did not receive the blue Deposit Remittance Form, please be sure to enclose a note clearly identifying the check as your tuition deposit, with your name and student ID.
• Your NetID and temporary password (which will allow you to set up your Northwestern email account) will be mailed to you either with your admission packet, or separately shortly thereafter. It is very important to activate your account as this will become the preferred means of communication leading up to your arrival on campus.
• If you are eligible for and plan to apply for financial aid, complete all required documents (see Financial Aid for Admitted Students ) and submit to the Medill Financial Aid Office. DO NOT submit an application for financial aid if you are waitlisted, even if you have been asked to consider an offer of admission for an alternate quarter of entry. You are not eligible to apply for financial aid until you have been formally and fully admitted to Medill for a specific quarter of entry. International students are not eligible for federal financial aid and should not complete these forms.
**Important update for Mac users: You will no longer need to purchase a third-party emulation software solution nor a copy of Windows XP SP2 to enable you to use your Mac at Medill.
• Submit the Admissions Health Record Form to Northwestern University Health Services. Admitted students must also complete an Insurance Coverage Selection Form: students enrolling Summer Quarter 2009 must download, complete and submit the hard copy form to NU Health Services prior to enrollment. Students enrolling Fall Quarter 2009 should complete the form on CAESAR beginning July 1. Please visit the NU-Health Services website for additional information regarding health services and insurance.
Failure to submit these forms will delay your registration. Do NOT send these forms to the Medill Graduate Admissions Office.
• Be sure the Medill Office of Graduate Admissions has an official copy of your final transcript showing the date your bachelor's degree was awarded by your undergraduate institution. This is applicable if you were still finishing your degree when you were accepted to Medill.
• Once the admitted student listserv is formed, you will be given access to the Who's Who and Who's Who form in order to submit your information and photo to the class directory.
Please be sure to check this web page frequently for updates!
***Please be sure to check your Northwestern email account for additional information from the Office of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid in the time leading up to your arrival on campus!
