Medill Admissions - Financial Aid

Financial Aid for Admitted Students

Application Procedure

Congratulations on your acceptance to Medill!

Eligible candidates should do the following as soon as possible after being admitted (please note: international students and waitlisted students are not eligible; do not complete an application for financial aid unless you have been formally admitted to Medill for a specific quarter of entry):

1. Complete and submit the 2009-2010 Medill Financial Aid Application.
2. Submit a signed copy of your 2008 Tax Returns and W2(s).
3. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form can be completed online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. To ensure that Medill receives a copy of your form electronically, please include our school code, 001739, in the appropriate section.

After all of the required documents have been submitted to our office, expect an email (we will only use your Northwestern University email address) directing you to CAESAR to respond to your offered Financial Aid. A paper Financial Aid Award Letter will not be mailed to you. CASEAR is a secure website that hosts a variety of important information, including financial aid and student account information.

If you do not have a completed tax return to use for your 2009-2010 FAFSA, you can submit an estimated FAFSA. Information provided to you by your employer on the W2 or End of Year Statement lists adjusted gross income, total salary, etc. Please be aware, until we receive an official FAFSA and completed signed tax return your aid offer will remain Provisional.

The following documents will help guide you through the financial aid process. If you have questions call 847/491-5228. We look forward to working with you!
