Applying to Medill
How to Apply to a Graduate Program at Medill:
To be eligible to apply to a graduate program at Medill, you must have, or expect to receive prior to enrollment, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. We strongly encourage you to use our online application system, which makes applying convenient, secure and efficient; you can enter all the necessary information, upload your essays and resume, and input contact information for your recommenders so they can submit their letters online, too.
To help ensure your application moves into review as soon as possible, please submit any hard-copy supporting documents that cannot be uploaded into the online system (official transcripts, hard-copy letters of recommendation, and clips or writing samples) in one package. (Official test scores should come to us directly from the testing organization. Our code is 1699-4503 for the GRE; for the GMAT our code is 6WZ-XH-66.) Sending everything in one envelope allows you more control over the timing and completion of your application, and reduces the chance that supporting documents are misfiled or lost in the mail. Please do not submit materials that are bound, laminated or enclosed in additional folders.
IMC applicants are required to have an admissions interview: interview time slots are available up until the IMC application deadline. If you are concerned that you will not be able to complete your interview prior to the application deadline, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions to discuss your options.
To schedule your interview, please login to your online application account, click on "Search Events" and follow the instructions on the home page.
If you have questions about how to apply online, or you are unable to use the online system and would prefer to use a paper application, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions for assistance.
