Information for Admitted International Graduate Students

Congratulations and welcome to Medill.

Whether you have studied in the United States before or whether Medill will be your first experience of higher education in the U.S., Northwestern University has many resources available to help make your transition a smooth one. Below are some pre-enrollment tasks that are unique to international students, but this is not a comprehensive checklist - so please also review the complete information for your specific program (MSJ or IMC).

Complete the Federal I-20 Request Form. Please read the instructions on how to submit your I-20 request form, which should be sent directly to Northwestern's International Office.

Provide Official Final Transcripts and Credential Evaluation. If you submitted unofficial transcripts, and/or you have not yet submitted an official credential evaluation of your international transcripts from a NACES member, please do so as soon as possible.  The official transcript you submit must indicate the date your degree was conferred. If that hasn't happened yet or isn't included on your transcript, bring your diploma with you to the Office of Graduate Admissions when you arrive at Medill.
