For Admitted International Students

Congratulations and welcome to Medill!

Whether you have studied in the United States before or Medill will be your first experience of higher education in the U.S., Northwestern has many resources available to help make your transition a smooth one. Below are some pre-enrollment tasks that are unique to international students. However, this is not a comprehensive checklist, so please also review the complete information for admitted students.

Complete the Federal I-20 request form

Please read the instructions on how to submit your I-20 request form, which should be sent directly to Northwestern's International Office. Once the Graduate Admissions office receives your I-20 from the International Office, we will send it to the current address we have on file. If your address changes, please send us the updated information.

Provide official final transcripts and credential evaluation

We ask you to submit official transcripts, test scores and credential evaluation reports (through WES or one of its partners) at least 30 days prior to enrollment. If you are not able to submit a transcript showing the degree conferred 30 days prior to enrollment, please contact our office for guidance.

We look forward to welcoming you on campus.
