ABOUT

Welcome to the Medill Alumni Club of Southern California. This club was established in 1990 to provide programs and networking opportunities for the 450 (and growing) alumni in Los Angeles and the surrounding area. Events are held periodically throughout the year, including an annual summer social where we present a $1,000 scholarship for a Medill graduate student. Check the Medill calendar for details on events - and see below for more information.

News:
The Medill Club of Southern California has had several great events. Alan Abrahamson, NBC Television columnist and Medill graduate, spoke to alumni about the NFL Super Bowl and NBC's plans to cover the China Summer Olympics in February.

In addition, Medill alumni Larry Armstrong organized a visit to the newly remodeled Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles in March.

Finally, we need your help! Please volunteer on the core committee or submit program ideas. Call me at 562-598-2107 with your suggestions.

You can also help by sending a check for your 2008 dues. The money provides for a $1,000 scholarship for a deserving Medill student. Dues are $40 for Medill graduates, but if you've graduated within the past five years it's $20.

Send checks to:
The Bohle Company
11601 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 750
Los Angeles, CA 90025

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
James Harden, President
