Proving the relationship between customer engagement and purchase behavior, the Medill IMC Spiegel Research Center is focused on evidence-based, data-driven analysis. The center’s research has included proving the financial impact of consumer behavior in social media, mobile devices, customer reviews and more. The experienced SRC researchers provide evidence that shows which types of customer engagement with media and brands results in financial impact.

As an IMC student, you can apply to join the Spiegel Research Center team in one of two ways: as a Spiegel Research Fellow or as a member of the Spiegel Impact Marketing Team. By participating in SRC, you can:

Spiegel Research Fellows

As a Spiegel fellow, you conduct research, from start to finish and guided by Spiegel researchers, to produce findings that can be published on a variety of topics related to SRC’s work. As a fellow, you can pursue your curiosities in marketing communications by working with real client data to find new insights.

As a fellow, you also take IMC courses, including an independent study with SRC. A maximum of 10 students are selected as fellows each year. All students are eligible to apply. Fellows receive a stipend upon successful completion of the fellowship.

Spiegel Impact Marketing Team

The Spiegel Impact Marketing Team helps grow community and generate media hits to position SRC as a thought-leading research center for customer engagement. For example, the team manages content creation and the center’s social media channels. If you are interested in building audiences around the SRC's work, this opportunity may interest you.

A maximum of five students are selected as fellows each year. All students are eligible to apply. Students on the Spiegel Impact Marketing Team receive a stipend upon successful completion of the program.
