Medill Newsrooms
Student Reporters Covering Breaking Stories
Graduate students work for one quarter in the downtown Chicago newsroom reporting and filing daily stories for news clients and posting on Medill's news site. Medill's student reporters cover the mayor and the city council, cops and courthouses and a cross-section of civic issues. They are fully credentialed and report on breaking stories every day. The Chicago newsroom is in the heart of Chicago's Loop, just steps from the Sears Tower and the Chicago Board of Trade.
The Washington Program
In Washington, D.C., broadcast students and reporting and writing students work in Medill's D.C. newsroom reporting on the federal government. These students also are fully-credentialed correspondents covering Congress, the White House and many federal agencies on a daily basis with daily deadlines.
