Medill launches Organizational Leadership MOOC on Oct. 19

Medill’s newest massive open online course (MOOC) teaches leaders how to create successful environments through telling authentic, trustworthy and compelling narratives about themselves and the companies they lead.

Medill faculty Tom Collinger, Ernest Duplessis, Hud Englehart and Candy Lee bring expertise from marketing communications and journalism to “Leadership Communication for Maximum Impact: Storytelling.” This MOOC is the second of five available in Northwestern’s newest MOOC specialization, “Organizational Leadership,” a partnership between Medill, the Kellogg School of Management, McCormick School of Engineering and School of Communication. Through the five courses, attendees will learn how to successfully lead organizational change by building and motivating teams; designing and delivering powerful stories; developing strategies to appropriately influence; understanding underlying customer analytics and applying innovative approaches to deliver impact.

The five MOOCs can be taken individually – two, including Medill’s MOOC, will launch on Oct. 19 while the remaining will be available in November and January.
