Innovate

At Medill students learn how to report acurately and thoroughly above all else, whether they strive to tell stories with visual tools or create new media technologies. Students can spend a quarter reporting from another country, head to Washington to serve as a watchdog or dive deep into specific subject area in Chicago.

NEWS21

The 2011 News21 fellows examined trends in education, producing an interactive website with data tools and original reporting, as well as a print product for parents of 3-5-year-olds who don’t have Internet access.

GLOBAL REPORTING

Some of the most exciting journalism opportunities are outside the U.S. And Medill’s optional fifth quarter places students at an international newsroom on one of five continents.

MEDILL REPORTS: CHICAGO

Each quarter, Medill News Service churns out hundreds of stories from the downtown newsroom, where students choose from three reporting concentrations: business, urban affairs or health and science.

MEDILL REPORTS: D.C.

Washington is the perfect place for students to cover public policy issues, working in Medill’s multimedia newsroom located in the heart of the nation’s capital.
