Global Perspectives (Asia)

Medill’s priority is always the health and safety of our students so we may make adjustments to planned travel based on guidance from Northwestern’s Office of Global Safety and Security.

Global Perspectives covers international aspects of IMC with a particular emphasis on Asia. The course is offered in the fall quarter and features a two-week trip to multiple Asian cities. Students have pre-trip meetings which include academic content. During the trip, students visit several companies in each city to learn about global and local marketing communication practices.

Students do research while on the trip that builds on the academic content prior to the trip. After the trip the class meets multiple times to complete the projects and make formal presentations on research findings  The course is offered in the fall quarter and the trip takes place just after the summer quarter ends.
