How did the IMC program help you get where you are today in your career?
It gave me a level of confidence to approach a senior-level position at my age and poise to be client-facing. I’m also unique to the program because I didn’t enter to switch career paths, but to confirm and hone my passion for strategic planning. It did just that and gave me a path forward.

What skills did the IMC program give you to move forward in your career?
The program gave me a full, well-rounded understanding of marketing – the big picture, not just what goes on in my own advertising world. That was really helpful to learn because sometimes we forget that our clients and colleagues are immersed in a lot more than just what we do, ourselves, on a day-to-day basis. This program gives you the opportunity to learn, mess-up and practice soft-skills in an environment where it’s allowed, unlike the “real world.”

What was one of your favorite parts of your IMC experience?
My classmates have become friends and confidants beyond the classroom, perhaps in ways I wouldn't have expected from a part-time program. And I have such a continued admiration and respect for the professors and faculty I worked with in my two years at Medill. Some would call this growing your professional network, but I think of it as growing my personal network of people I can count on and people I root for and support through their successes.
