Curriculum
The Integrated Marketing Communications curriculum is designed to give working professionals a solid foundation in the principles of integrated marketing communications and allow you the flexibility to select electives that match your interests and career goals.
Thirteen graduate-level units are required to earn the Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (MSIMC) degree in the IMC Professional program. Each course is typically one unit.
- Of the 13 units, three units are core classes and ten units are electives classes. One unit may be taken outside of Medill.
- The program can be completed in less than two years, but you have up to five years after enrolling in the program to complete your degree requirements.
The IMC Professional program is designed to enable you to study and engage in classes on a flexible and individualized schedule. You can choose to take all of your classes online from around the world, all of your classes in the evening in Chicago, or a combination. In addition to quarter-long courses, you can take optional, short-term immersive courses around the country and world.
We are constantly updating our curriculum to adapt to a rapidly changing marketing communications marketplace. We also modify the course schedule below based on student demand and enrollment. As such, the courses listed are subject to change.
Medill’s IMC degree is a STEM degree. Our CIP code is 09.0702.
