Paul Sagan ProPublica Medill Investigative Lab Scholar

The Paul Sagan ProPublica Medill Investigative Lab Scholar is awarded to students admitted to the graduate journalism program pursuing the investigative specialization in the Medill Investigative Lab.

The awards of $15,000 will be provided in addition to any merit aid offered and are applied to the student account as payment toward Medill tuition charges. Those admitted to the graduate journalism program to pursue the Medill Investigative Lab, which starts in Chicago and concludes in Washington, DC., are considered for the award. No additional essay is required.

One of the awards is for a student with an interest in and/or experience with data journalism.

The scholarship is named for Medill alumnus Paul Sagan (BSJ81) who is chairman of ProPublica. Sagan is a member of Medill’s Hall of Achievement and a Life Trustee of Northwestern.
