Cost of Attendance

The estimated cost of attendance is used to help guide your financial planning, determine financial aid eligibility and award federal loans to students applying for federal financial aid. This includes University direct charges (such as tuition) and variable expenses for books and supplies and loan fees.

Keep in mind that your actual costs may differ depending on your individual expenses, budget needs and financial planning. Learn more about financing your Northwestern University Medill education on our financial aid page.

University direct charges

Integrated Marketing Communications Professional students are charged tuition on a per-unit basis. Each class is typically one unit. Thirteen units are required to complete a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications degree in the Professional program.

As the IMC Professional program is part-time, students typically take one or two units per quarter. Please note: You must be enrolled in at least two units to qualify for federal financial aid.

Tuition based on the 2020-2021 budget
$5,200 per unit

Variable expenses

Actual amounts for the following items will vary depending on your needs, budgeting decisions and financial aid eligibility. The amounts listed are for four quarters. Students using federal financial aid to fund the program will first be offered financial aid to cover costs of tuition, loan fees and books and supplies. If you need to borrow additional aid for living expenses, please notify Associate Director of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid Melissa Sersland at 847-491-5042 or melissa.sersland@northwestern.edu.
