Stephen J. Kaye

Stephen J. Kaye (BSJ65, MSJ66) was a member of the inaugural class of the Medill Hall of Achievement in 1997.

Kaye was a founding partner in Kaye, Thorpe & Associates, a firm that consults a range of corporate and government clients in the areas of communications and corporate reputation.

For more than 23 years prior to founding KT&A, Kaye held the top communications position in three of the country's leading multinational corporations -- International Paper, Illinois Tool Works and G.D. Searle & Co. -- as well as the top communications position at Empire BlueCross BlueShield, largest of the BlueCross insurers in the country. Kaye also held top communications and public affairs positions with Sara Lee Corporation and Morton International.

Kaye died in 1998.
