Strategic Communications

Corporate communications and public relations are becoming increasingly sophisticated and effective. Through the Strategic Communications sequence, you gain a deep understanding of professional communications through a strategic lens.

You learn to deliver messages across platforms and audiences, all while integrating policy and ethical considerations that support corporate social responsibility.

Going beyond basic communications tactics to communicate strategically, effectively and authentically brings value to an organization, giving you an advantage in your career.

Strategic communications touches many disciplines, including public affairs and public relations, government affairs, corporate reputation management, media relations, investor relations, employee communications, corporate social responsibility and global sustainability.

As compared with a masters in communications degree, the Medill IMC master's degree will give you additional tools in marketing communications. You will learn both qualitative (creativity, consumer insights) and quantitative (data analytics and IMC strategy) skills.
