EVANSTON, ILL. -- Giordano’s CEO Nick Scarpino (IMC11) will address IMC graduates and their families at this year’s convocation ceremony.

Scarpino leads Giordano’s, a chain of 60 restaurants in nine states, internationally known for their Chicago-style deep dish and tavern-style pizzas. He also is a member of the board of directors at Killer Burger, a Portland-based restaurant chain serving hand-built bacon burgers and craft beer.

“We are delighted to have a Medill IMC graduate at the helm of one of our area’s most loved brands,” said Medill Dean Charles Whitaker. “Nick will send our graduates off to start their careers with a slice of inspiration.”

Prior to Giordano’s, Scarpino spent 10 years as Portillo’s Chief Marketing Officer. During his time there, Portillo’s grew from a privately-held company with 38 locations in four states to a publicly-held company with 95 locations across 10 states. Scarpino also held advertising roles at Google for four years.
