Candy Deemer

Candy Deemer (BSJ76, MSJ77) is a member of the inaugural class of the Medill Hall of Achievement of 1997.

Deemer is the co-author of “Dancing on the Glass Ceiling: Tap into Your True Strengths, Activate Your Vision, and Get What You Really Want Out of Your Career.” Before becoming a writer, Deemer spent 22 years in the advertising industry in Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

During the last 18 of those years, she worked for DDB Worldwide Communications in L.A., ultimately serving as co-managing director/chief operating officer. Today, she is a partner in InterVen Partners, a corporate consulting firm. Deemer is a charter member of Northwestern University’s Council of One Hundred. Deemer has served on the Boards of Directors of the American Advertising Museum in Portland, and Students in Free Enterprise.
