Dave Callaway

Dave Callaway (BSJ86, MSJ87) is a member of the Medill Hall of Achievement.

He served as editor-in-chief of USA Today for four years before becoming the CEO of financial news website The Street in 2016. Callaway has previously served as editor-in-chief of MarketWatch Inc. and CBS MarketWatch. In his more than 15 years of journalism experience, Callaway has worked as a London correspondent for Bloomberg News and as a reporter and financial columnist for The Boston Herald. He was a securities industry reporter at Bloomberg, where he led a team of financial reporters throughout Europe covering the banking, investment banking and asset management business.

Callaway won two Society of American Business Editors and Writers awards for his weekly commentary column and in 2001, he was named one of the 100 most influential business journalists in the U.S. by The Journal of Financial Reporters. Callaway received his bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Medill in 1986 and 1987.
