Diane S. Sykes

Diane S. Sykes (BSJ80) is a member of the Medill Hall of Achievement.

Sykes is a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and former Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She was nominated by President George W. Bush to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to her appointment to the federal bench, Sykes served as a justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1999 by then-Governor Tommy G. Thompson and elected to a 10-year term in April 2000.
