Judy Markey

Judy Markey (BSJ65) is a member of the Medill Hall of Achievement.

Markey has been a broadcaster, novelist and journalist.

She co-hosted “Kathy and Judy” on WGN-AM for 20 years. The show became Chicago's top-rated midday radio program and won “Best Major Market Talk Show” by the National Association of Women in Radio and Television.

For 16 years she chronicled the insanities of contemporary life in her syndicated column for the Chicago Sun-Times.

Markey's first novel, "The Daddy Clock," published in 1998 by Bantam Books, received glowing reviews in The New York Times, London Express and Denver Post.

Her second novel, "Just Trust Me," was released in 2005. Markey's first two book collections of her syndicated columns were "How to Survive Your High School Reunion and Other Mid-Life Crises" and "You Only Get Married for the First Time Once."

Markey was named one of Chicago's "One Hundred Most Influential Women" by Crain's Chicago Business and one of the "Top One Hundred Talk Show Hosts" in the country by Talkers magazine, a trade publication serving the talk radio industry.
