Richard L. Wallace

Richard L. Wallace (BSJ58, MSJ59) is a member of the Medill Hall of Achievement.

Wallace holds the title of chancellor emeritus at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He served as interim chancellor from 1996-1997, and was chancellor from 1997-2005. The appointment marked a permanent return to the campus where Wallace began his administrative career more than 30 years earlier.

After working as an instructor and assistant professor of economics at Florida State University from 1961 to 1966, Missouri hired Wallace as an assistant professor of economics and community health and medical practice.

In addition to his degrees from Medill, Wallace earned his doctorate from Vanderbilt University.
