Ronald B. Kaatz
Ronald Kaatz (BSJ56, MSJ57) was a member of the inaugural class of the Medill Hall of Achievement in 1997.
Kaatz was a member of the Medill faculty from 1986 to 1996, teaching in all areas of the school's integrated marketing communications program. His commitment to teaching and to his students led Medill to create an award in his name for the graduating IMC student who best represents his generosity of intellect, spirit, and personality.
Before joining the Medill faculty, Kaatz spent 20 years at J. Walter Thompson Co., serving as senior vice president and director of media concepts. Based in Chicago, he worked with all JWT offices in developing innovative new research techniques and stimulating creativity in all areas of media. Prior to that, Kaatz was director of network relations, director of broadcast operations and director of JWT's media resources and research department.
Kaatz died in 1997.
