
Alicia Diaz
Adjunct Lecturer
Alicia Diaz is an adjunct professor for Northwestern’s Medill on the Hill program. She is also a reporter for Bloomberg News, covering US politics and policy out of Washington DC.
She has worked across the newsroom at Bloomberg, including reporting stints on the equities, DC breaking news, corporate lobbying and New York City metro desks. She was also a producer for both Bloomberg TV's Balance of Power and the TOPLive blog team.
Her work has appeared in STAT News, The Miami Herald, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and more. Previously, she was a digital producer for WBEZ — Chicago Public Radio.
Diaz is passionate about illustrating data trends and policy through the stories of real people. Prior to her pivot to journalism, her business studies took her across the globe, including consulting a women-run fair trade organization in Ghana and studying international business in Barcelona, Spain.
Diaz is a proud alumna of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
