Adjunct Lecturer

Amy Boyle, an adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, brings over 19 years of experience as a professional photographer. She is an internationally published theater and editorial photographer renowned for her work with Broadway national tours and the vibrant Chicago theater scene. Boyle holds an undergraduate degree in art history and marketing from Northwestern University and recently earned her master's degree in journalism in 2023, specializing in magazine journalism with her third quarter in the Integrated Marketing Communications cohort in San Francisco.

Her photography has been featured in prestigious publications worldwide, including Fortune, Forbes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Chicago Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Sun-Times. Boyle also channels her passion for storytelling into her role as the creator and host of the "Speaking of Phenomenal Podcast."

Photography runs deeply in Boyle's family; three of her four sons are pursuing professional careers in journalism, fine art, and documentary work. In her teaching at Medill, Boyle integrates her extensive industry experience with academic insights, guiding her students to harness their creativity and technical skills in multimedia journalism and visual storytelling.
