Arturo Fernandez is a visual journalist and newsroom leader with more than 18 years of experience in photojournalism, editing, and media management. He has held key roles at The Ottawa Daily Times, The Morning Call, The Des Moines Register, the Rockford Register Star, and most recently at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where his team contributed to Pulitzer-winning and Emmy-recognized coverage.
He has received multiple Keystone Media Awards, Society of Professional Journalists honors, and the Peter Lisagor Award for Best News Photo. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Fernandez brings extensive professional experience to the classroom and is committed to supporting the development of emerging visual storytellers.
