
Becky Lang
Adjunct Lecturer
Lang teaches science writing for STEM PhD students at Northwestern University.
Lang has worked in health and science journalism for 25 years in magazines and newspapers. She is the former editor in chief of Discover and led the award-winning health, science and environment team at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She has also been a freelance editor for outlets such as National Geographic and Medscape/WebMD. Lang started out as a news editor at weeklies and a small daily in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.
She is the internal communications manager for student and faculty/staff at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The Montana native earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1992 from Medill. She also had a jazz show on WNUR while at Northwestern.
