
Jessica D'Onofrio

Jessica D'Onofrio is an Emmy-nominated journalist and adjunct lecturer at Medill with more than two decades of on-air TV experience.
She spent 14 years as a reporter at ABC7 Chicago on the morning show covering politics, education, crime and breaking news. She started her career in 2000 at WHOI-TV in Peoria-Bloomington-Normal then moved on to WXIN in Indianapolis. D'Onofrio spent years at WKMG-TV in Orlando where she broke stories in the high-profile Casey Anthony investigation appearing on national news programs such as Larry King, Nancy Grace and Dr. Phil. She came home to Chicago in 2010 to report for ABC7.
She encourages students to be curious, unbiased, fair, persistent and hard-working.
D'Onofrio was born and raised in Chicago. She attended the Latin School of Chicago, the University of Michigan and earned her Master of Science in Journalism at Medill.
She lives in the city with her husband and two children.
