Kristian Alomá
Adjunct Lecturer
Kristian Alomá is a consumer psychologist and brand strategist with more than two decades of experience helping organizations understand why people choose what they choose. He is the founder and CEO of Threadline, a qualitative research and brand strategy firm that applies social science methods to questions of brand meaning, identity, and trust.
Alomá's work centers on narrative psychology — how people use stories to construct identity, and how brands become part of that construction. He has led research and strategy engagements for clients across healthcare, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, consumer services, and nonprofits, and speaks and writes regularly on applied narrative theory in marketing.
In addition to his work at Medill, Alomá lectures for the Kellogg School Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University. He also serves as Director of Programming for the American Marketing Association's Chicago chapter.
Education: Alomá earned his B.S. in Speech from Northwestern University and both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology, with an emphasis in media psychology, from Fielding Graduate University.
