Nancy Hobor
Associate Professor Emeritus
Nancy A. Hobor is a senior lecturer in Medill’s Integrated Marketing Communications graduate program and has more than 30 years of experience helping companies strengthen their reputations and position themselves internally and externally. Within strategic communications, she has a passion for investor relations and employee engagement.
At Medill, Hobor has taught all of the strategic communications master's courses offered in the IMC program, including: Marketing Public Relations, Investor Relations, Leadership Communications and Employee Engagement, Crisis Communications and Strategic Communications Foundations.
Prior to Medill, Hobor headed the communications department for three Fortune 500 companies, most recently as senior vice president for communications and investor relations at W.W. Grainger, Inc. She has experience in the petroleum, health care, airlines, chemical and distribution industries. The National Investor Relations Institute and Institutional Investor Magazine have recognized her leadership in the investor relations field on numerous occasions. In addition, she has been on the boards of top organizations in communications and investor relations, and has presented to national and international groups.
Her current interest is in helping leaders develop and communicate their positions in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) both internally and externally and developing a corporate ESG culture.
