Endowed Gifts

We aim to be the leading school of our kind in the world. We teach the next generation of leaders in journalism and integrated marketing communications, hire top faculty who are active scholars and writers, produce hundreds of stories in journalism across all platforms and from multiple bureaus, and explore marketing communications solutions through creativity, innovation and partnerships. The work being done at Medill matters.

Our goal is to be bold in our plans and yet focused on the education and development of each individual in our academic community.

Gifts in the form of named endowed funds range from $100,000 to $5 million-plus and provide crucial support to the students, faculty and programs that make Medill special. Endowed gifts guarantee support for important priorities in perpetuity and enable donors to create a lasting legacy at Northwestern.

Our development team can work with you in creating an endowed gift that will advance Medill's mission and speak to your passion. Below are some popular endowed gift types:

  • Faculty professorships to ensure that Medill can recruit and retain top faculty talent who drive our excellence.
  • Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to provide access to a Medill and Northwestern education for talented students, regardless of their economic circumstances.
  • Program support to fund special initiatives, including student capstone projects, speaker series, new technology, conferences and research projects.
  • International experiences to meet Medill's commitment to offer students an essential view of the larger world through special international courses and residencies that can change their lives and provide a global perspective for careers.
