Politics, Policy and Foreign Affairs Reporting Project
2 units.
In the first year and a half of his second term, President Donald Trump has deeply altered the United States government and its global modus operandi. This fast-paced transformation, with the help of a GOP-controlled Congress and conservative majorities in federal courts, provides an unrivaled opportunity for seasoned Medill graduate students to work together on a reporting project. They will examine the impact on people and politics in America, as well as any backlash evident in the 2026 mid-term election campaigns. In this advanced, immersive class, students will collaborate with each other and professors to develop a project focus. They will use multimedia, data and other advanced reporting skills to jointly research their stories deeply. Then they will produce stories and pitch them to professional media partners.
