Yunita Ong (BSJ17) wins multiple awards at AAJA convention

Yunita Ong (BSJ17) has won awards in two categories at the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) Student Journalism Awards. Her stories won in the Asian American Pacific Islander Issues and General Excellence categories.

Ong won for a North by Northwestern story "From the Outside Looking In," where she explains the experience of being an Asian student at Northwestern, and for the Forbes Asia story "Waffles With That Joe?," about a South Korean coffee chain trying to break into the U.S. market.

Ong was recognized at the AAJA Gala Scholarship & Awards Banquet on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Hotel in San Francisco during the 2015 AAJA National Convention.
