Liane Jackson

Adjunct Lecturer

Liane Jackson is an adjunct lecturer at Medill, teaching Ethics and Law. An experienced attorney, editor and award-winning journalist, Jackson has reported and anchored for local and national television, and written for a variety of print and magazine outlets.

Jackson currently serves as assistant managing editor and columnist for the ABA Journal, the flagship national legal affairs magazine of the American Bar Association. Jackson focuses her reporting on gender, social and criminal justice issues, along with legal ethics. Prior to the Journal, Jackson worked as a press secretary for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the Cook County President’s Office.

Outside of work, Jackson volunteers on pro bono legal cases in the areas of domestic relations, guardianship and landlord-tenant law. She earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from Tulane Law School, and an MSJ from Northwestern Medill.
