Medill faculty among top 2% of scientists worldwide

EVANSTON, ILL. -- Four researchers from the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications are among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Stanford University’s 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists list.

The list is a comprehensive analysis of all peer-reviewed papers across scientific disciplines. It measures the significance of the research, including how often each study is cited in the work of other scientists. The publication is the definitive list of research that has made the most significant impact across each field of study.

“I’m thrilled that the talented researchers at Medill are receiving this recognition,” said Medill Dean Charles Whitaker. “It’s a testament to the truly global impact that their work is having.”

Rankings are based on multiple factors, including the total number of citations received, total number of citations received to papers in which the scientist is the only author, total number of citations to papers where the scientist is single or first author, and total number of citations to papers where the scientist is single, first or last author.
