Machine Learning Techniques (San Francisco)

(Elective Course)

Machine Learning Techniques covers select machine learning methods and applications to customer-centric analysis for marketing communications planning. The course features of combination of methodology, case studies and strategic implications.

Potential methods include neural networks, nearest neighbor models, natural language processing, recommendation systems, social network analysis, model interpretations and Markov chains as well as scalable predictive modeling and managing and use of large data sets using open source software. The prerequisite is IMC 420 Data Foundations. Students should be able to do statistics in R and will be expected to know or learn basic SQL and how to work with the Unix shell.
