Tell us about your career path. How did you get where you are today?
I worked for several years in fashion retail marketing after undergrad before realizing that I needed to learn how to better understand and connect with the consumer in order to find success in marketing. This led me to the IMC Full Time program and shortly after graduating I landed a job in the tech retail space at Poshmark, a role that perfectly matched my interest in fashion retail and the tech space. Since then, I’ve been moving up the ranks at Poshmark, using my IMC learnings along the way.

What are your main responsibilities in your current role?
On the expansion team at Poshmark, I primarily create go-to-market strategy for international campaigns for our owned channels in order to drive consumer awareness, education, and adoption in newly launched markets. I also work on promoting new features globally as well as our exciting celebrity partnerships.

How did the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications Full Time program prepare you for your career?
IMC gave me a framework to tackle campaigns from start to finish. Instead of guesswork, I know how to effectively gather market research, discover key consumer insights, and drive toward measurable objectives.

What did you do during Immersion Quarter?
I worked as a consultant for the 4A’s to develop a strategic brand playbook for their new alumni program. It was so empowering to put the skills that I had learned in the classroom into real-world work, especially going into my job search. After Immersion Quarter, I felt confident that I was coming back to the workforce as a better marketer, storyteller, strategist, and team player.

What is a class or experience that sticks out in your mind and why?
Marketing Strategy with Jim Lecinski and Vijay Viswanathan will always stick out to me. It’s where I learned the framework that became the foundation for all of my future strategic thinking and was extremely valuable for every course that came after.

How has Medill Career Services helped you?
Knowing that I wanted to further my career in fashion retail marketing after graduating, I met with Career Services several times to share my interest. Career Services helped me shape my resume and cover letter in order to stand out for my particular interests. They also connected me with past alumni, speakers, and anyone who had a relationship with Medill in the field.
