Application

Students in all undergraduate schools at Northwestern are eligible to apply to the IMC Certificate program. You may apply to the program after successful completion of the three prerequisite courses; the grades for these courses must be reflected on your transcript at the time of application. To qualify for acceptance into the program, you must earn a minimum GPA of 2.7 in the three prerequisites.

You must opt for a letter grade in all prerequisite courses. We will not accept a grade of "pass" unless there is no option for a student to receive a letter grade.

Note: In the 2020-21 academic year (Fall '20, Winter '21 and Spring '21), Northwestern offered undergraduate students a temporary grading option. Credit/No Credit (CR/NC). A grade of "Credit" will be accepted for any IMC prerequisite class.

Application periods for admission into the IMC Certificate program are:

  • October 1-15
  • January 16-31
  • April 15-30 - First-year students eligible to apply in April
  • July 16-31

If you have questions about your eligibility, contact Tom Hayden.
