We are your primary resource for information on registration and degree progress as well as Medill and NU opportunities and services.

Summer communication and orientation

Over the summer, we’ll be in touch with information to help you prepare for the start of classes, and we’ll set up channels to connect you with your fellow students. At orientation, we’ll help you start off your career at Medill with a fun and informative program.

Academic advising

We will meet with you throughout your time here to discuss academic progress, personal and professional goals and dreams, and your Medill experience.

Ambassadors/student advisory council

Student Life staff members advise our student advisory groups, which work to continually improve the Medill student experience and represent the school as ambassadors to prospective students and alumni.

Professional development

Our office sends students to various journalism conferences throughout the summer where students can meet professionals and build their networks. Medill has journalism professional groups, such as the National Association of Black Journalists shown at left at the national NABJ conference.

Building the Medill community

We build Medill pride with events throughout the year, including student appreciation events and small group dinners at the homes of Medill faculty.
