Financial Aid
Medill considers all admitted students for institutional grants and scholarships. In addition, U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for federal financial aid, which includes the Unsubsidized Direct Loan and the Graduate PLUS loan. A combination of federal student loans, along with possible grants and scholarships, are offered to graduate students up to the cost of the attendance.
Scholarships and grants
We award several merit-based scholarships and grants to IMC Full-Time graduate students. We will consider you for a scholarship or grant based on the content of your application for the IMC Full-Time program and how it matches criteria for available scholarships. Scholarship and grant offers are made at the time of admission or shortly thereafter. Students who are awarded merit-based scholarships and grants will receive an email with their scholarship information.
International students will be considered, along with all admitted students, for selected Medill scholarships, but are not eligible for federal financial aid. International students should plan to bear most, if not all, of the cost of attending Medill.
Dean's Scholarship
The Dean’s Scholarship covers full tuition costs. There will be five Dean’s Scholarships awarded to students admitted to the IMCFT program for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Students who apply in Round 1 or Round 2 will have priority consideration for this scholarship.
Students will be considered and reviewed for the Dean’s Scholarship by the materials submitted in the admissions application; no additional submissions are required for this scholarship. The Dean’s Scholarship will be awarded to applicants with outstanding merit, as defined by:
- excellent academic merit
- demonstrated knowledge of IMC and how it relates to their career goals
- relevant internship/post-graduate work experience, and/or outstanding student involvement in their undergraduate career
