Koo Yul Kim is a Research Assistant Professor with the Medill Spiegel Research Center at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. His research focuses on consumer behavior and marketing in sports business, with particular interests in sponsorship and revenue generation, sports gambling market, and the sports ticket market.
He brings extensive sport industry experience in marketing, sales, and corporate sponsorship, with professional roles at the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, Brion Sports Marketing Group, PGA Tour events, and the Eugene Emeralds Baseball Club, a Minor League Baseball team.
He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Fox School of Business at Temple University and holds an MBA and Master of Sport Administration from Ohio University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. Before joining Northwestern, he served as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration at the University of Northern Colorado.
